Manchester United VS Roma

International Friendly

Posted on: July 26, 2014 at 1:46AM

Handicap: Home -0.5

Analysis:

I rarely bet on friendly games but this one I rate as a must. The odds of even money on Manchester United that has been reborn since the arrival of Van Gaal is a true gift. They have revived that club that had one of the worst seasons in their history when Moyes was the manager. Now everything seems to be back as it used to be, United have a great manager, they are bringing very expensive players and even the sponsors are seeing them as cream of the crop in football. On the other side, Roma did something similar but with less money of course. They brought some interesting players and surely will be the biggest threat to Juventus for the Scudetto. Still, United are in this moment far better team and will win this one.

Holland VS Mexico

FIFA WORLD CUP

Posted on: June 29, 2014 at 3:52AM

Handicap: Over 2.5

Analysis:

After two expected travelers to quarter finals, tonight we will have two tough matches. First of them is the one between Holland and Mexico. Holland is a completely new side with Van Gaal, they have many players from domestic league, 6 of them are from Feyenoord. On the other side, their defence still looks vulnerable and match against Australia has shown that. There is no need to speak about their attack, Robben, Sneijder and Van Persie are a true force for any defence. On the other side, Mexico have became a different side compared to what we used to see. They ha a rock solid defence that held Brazil to draw. They are a really organized side but I believe Holland will open them up in first half and then Mexicans will have to attack and in that situation we could see some goals here.

Brazil VS Chile

FIFA WORLD CUP

Posted on: June 28, 2014 at 4:51AM

Handicap: Away +1.5

Analysis:

Group stage is finally behind is and now we will be watching matches in which teams will have to go for all or nothing. There will not be any calculations and players sparing and we can finally enjoy the pure football. Brazil have not impressed anyone in the group stage, and I really do not know how the bookies came to conclusion that Brazil should be set as such favorites here. I believe Chile will use their speed and pace and will not allow Brazil too much space. These two sides are both coming from South America and they know each other very well. In the last year they have played two friendly games and one finished 2-2 while the other one was won by Brazil 2-1. I am completely sure that Chile will not lose this one with more than one goal of difference. Odds of 1.65 are really worth a shot here.

Portugal VS Ghana

FIFA WORLD CUP

Posted on: June 26, 2014 at 12:05AM

Handicap: Over 2.5

Analysis:

This match has goals written all over it. Both teams are with one point behind Germany and USA who have 4 both. Still, because of the defeat at the opening of the group, Portugal is almost mathematically out of the World Cup. They would have to win big against Ghana and hope for the same result in favor of Germany. On the other side, Ghana are in much better position, as they would need a win of two goals and minimal defeat of the USA, or the other way around. And I believe that it is very possible that we will see Ghana in the next round. Only thing they have to do is repeat the display they put against Germany, when they outplayed the side that are among the favorites for lifting the trophy. On the other side, Ronaldo and others are playing way below expectations and I expect we could see some goals in their net. Still, Ghana are not famous for their great defence, so goals are the best options here.

Germany VS Ghana

FIFA WORLD CUP

Posted on: June 21, 2014 at 5:05AM

Handicap: Home -1.5

Analysis:

This world cup has already given us couple of shocking results and we already have Spain and England out of the competition. The bookmakers reacted and now Germany are third favorites for lifting the trophy. And in my opinion, they should be even counted as top favorites for the trophy. So far, I have not seen any side playing with such passion like Germany does. They destroyed Portugal in the first round and were 3 0 up even after the first 45 minutes. On the other side, Ghana had a good game against USA but unfortunately for them, a defeat came, a bit undeservedly I would say. They were at least equal on the pitch and after the equalizer were the side who wanted a win. Anyway, they now face a difficult challenge. They must look for a win against Germany and I say they do not have a chance in an open game. I expect a confident display from Germans and a comfortable win.

Mexico VS Cameroon

FIFA WORLD CUP

Posted on: June 13, 2014 at 6:32AM

Handicap: Over 2.5

Analysis:

We have all seen how the opening match finished and who was the central figure in it. I just hope for the sake of all football fans they wont make experiments with new referees anymore. This match should bring far less tension and I expect that both teams will try to win here. The maths are simple, neither Mexico or Cameroon can think of winning against Brazil, and against Croatia it wont be much easier. So, both will have to win this match and try to beat Croatia (if of course we count that both will lose against Brazil). Bookies dont expect some great match with a lot of goals but the thing I said above makes both teams hungry for a winning goal. In these condition, whoever concedes the first goal will have to open up and search for the equalizer. In those conditions, It will either end in a big win for one side, or a real thriller until the end. Goals are my choice here.

Zenit VS Rubin

Russian Premier League

Posted on: April 5, 2014 at 2:49PM

Handicap: Home -1

Analysis:

Tomorrow we will have a match between waken-up Zenit and Rubin that is sinking in problems. Bad results and problems in the squad had resulted with sacking of coach Spalletti and new manager, Villas-Boas is already improving things. Two wins in a row and Zenit are now back in the title race as they are trailing just one point behind Lokomotiv. With a win against Rubin, they would put pressure on their Moscow rivals. Anyway, it wont be easy as Zenit will have to overcome two things. First is very bad tradition against team from Kazan. They havent beaten them in St. Petersburg since the summer of 2010. Last two meetings ended in away win, but I believe that Rubin were a much bigger force at that time. Second thing is, the missing of first two keepers. Both Malafeev and Baburin are out, so the goal will be defended by Lodyagin. Oleg Shatov will miss in the midfield. But Rubin will have even bigger problems, as keeper Ryzhikov is suspended. Midfileders MVilla and Torbinsky are also out, as well as defender Burlak. So, Rubin will have to put a lot of subs in the line up and I dont see them holding Kerzhakov Hulk and Danny for 90 minutes. Zenits motivation is the key here and I believe they will break the negative tradition and win this one.

Spartak Moscow VS Ural

Russian Premier League

Posted on: April 4, 2014 at 3:38AM

Handicap: Over 2.5

Analysis:

Spartak are in terrible run. They havent won a single match this year, and have 2 defeats and 2 draws since the season restarted. Still, from those 4 games, 3 were on the road but nothing can make their performance acceptable. They lost in Grozny and in Krasnodar, conceded 5 goals and scored none. Between them there was a match with Anzhi at home, when they had a comfortable 2-0 lead at HT and still managed to drop it. In the last round, they had a goalless draw against Lokomotiv, a bit surprising result against league leaders. Maybe it is a sign of something new for red and white team. Spartak recently got a new coach, Dmitry Gunko, and it is yet to be seen what impact his work had on this team. On the other side, Ural have been reborn after the break in the championship. A team that was deep in relegation zone have managed to win 3 out of 4 games so far. They lost against league leaders but have beaten Terek, Krasnodar and Anzhi, all teams that Spartak failed to beat. Funny thing is that Ural lost 3-0 against Loko, while Spartak managed to escape with a draw. Ural are really looking well and the confidence is sky-high in team from Ekaterinburg. The tradition is not on their side, 8-1-0 for Spartak, but, having in mind the situation in the home side, it wouldnt be a surprise if the tradition changes today. The first match in Ekaterinburg ended 0-2 for Spartak, but the goals were scored by McGeady and Emenike, pleyers who are not in the club anymore. Both teams will start in strongest line ups. I believe that both teams will score here and that we will see at least 3 goals. Spartak will have to go for a win, as they need points to get European spot for the next season. On the other side, their defence is quite shaky and Ural will score, at least once, I am sure of that.

Sunderland VS West Ham

English Premier League

Posted on: March 31, 2014 at 4:23AM

Handicap: Home -0.5

Analysis:

Sunderland are in a bad streak and in even worse position. In last five rounds they have won only one point. They did play against Arsenal and Liverpool on the road but also had Hull at home and trip to Norwich, and all four were lost. Anyway, the second half at Anfield during the midweek was something that brings hope that Black Cats can somehow save themselves from relegation. They played well, got to 2-1 and missed a 100% chance in the additional time. If they play like that in this game, there is no worry for them. On the other side, Hammers have ended a bad streak of three losses with a win at home against Hull City. They are an average team and both the table and their away record are confirming it. The points are far more needed for Sunderland and I believe that is what will be deciding in motivation of the two teams. I will go for the home side here.

Liverpool VS Tottenham

English Premier League

Posted on: March 30, 2014 at 3:36AM

Handicap: Over 3.5

Analysis:

Last time Liverpool didnt deliver the 4 goals I needed but I believe that wont be the case today. They are playing against a side that is far more an attacking minded team, but also one that is quite vulnerable in defence. In fact both teams have problems in the last line, and are conceding quite easily. Liverpool almost dropped a 2-0 lead against Sunderland in the last round. Black cats scored one goal and had a 100% chance in the stoppage time when John O Shea missed the header from vicinity. On the other side, Suarez and Sturridge are doing miracles and this match has huge importance for Liverpool. Chelsea lost yesterday, while Arsenal and Manchester city shared 2 points in a draw. Great chance for Reds to make the title dream more alive than ever. Anyway, I see goals in both nets here, and over 3.5 is my bet.
